BioneXt Tampere

BioneXt Tampere is a special programme aiming at the development of the region's biotechnology sector. BioneXt enhances the competitive edge of the biotechnology industry promoting health and well-being. The future investments will be targeted at developing top biotechnology research, product development, clinical applications and international commercialisation, as well as joining the region's strong technology expertise resources in new biological research.

The target for BioneXt's project investments was set 100 MEUR by the year 2010. Now this challenging target has already been exceeded and the investments are 207 MEUR.

The BioneXt programme furthers co-operation between different fields of science and health care service providers, companies and financiers. At the same time, it creates a new expertise basis that enables the reinforcement of competence-intensive industries in the Tampere region. The programme is jointly conducted by the City of Tampere, local industries and health care service providers.
